Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus was a Italian explorer, who had plans to get to Asia. The only was he could do that was if he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. However; he needed someone to finance the trip, so he asked rulers from Portugal, England, and France. They all turned him down, but Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain said yes. After they had banished the Muslims out of Spain, they were able to pay for exploration. Christopher Columbus had also became the first European to sail west searching for a water route to Asia.
Ferdinand Magellan

Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer, who had tried to finish what Columbus had set out to do. Magellan had left Spain in the 1520, and headed west to sail around the Americans and then all the way to Asia. He sailed south along South America, and found a passage around the continent called the Strait of Magellan. After entering the passage, his ship entered a vast sea, named the Pacific Ocean. Magellan then sailed west, with his sailors nearly starving to death. Then, after 4 months at sea, he reached the Philippines, but the local people had killed Magellan. His crew still continued heading west across the Indian Ocean, around Africa, and back to Spain. They became the first known people to sail around the world.
Hernan Cortes

Hernan Cortes is a Spanish Conquistador who led an expedition that caused the fall of the Aztec Empire in the early 16th century. Francisco Pizarro another Spanish Conquistador also led with Hernan Cortes in battle. They led the battle field with gun, cannons, and smallpox disease. The Native Americans didn't stand a chance against Cortes, After the war, over millions of people died at battle, including much of their native culture. Cortes had defeated the Aztecs .
Francisco Pizarro

Francisco Pizarro, a Spanish Conquistador, had went to war with Hernan Cortes, also a Spanish Conquistador, against the Native American soldiers in the early 16th century. After Hernan Cortes defeated the Aztecs, Pizarro went to war with the Incas. The Incan Emperor, Atahualpa, thought Pizarro was crazy going against 80,000 Incan warriors. However, Pizarro had fought them before, so he had a advantage. After more than 30 years of war, Pizarro had one the battle earning the reward of governing Peru by the Spanish King.
